Ordinary General Assembly Meeting for the Year 2024

The Jordan Economic Forum held its annual General Assembly meeting on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, chaired by the Forum’s President, Mr. Mazen Al-Hamoud, and attended by a representative from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, with the legal quorum duly met. The General Assembly approved both the administrative and financial reports for the year 2024. Mr. Omar Al-Kurdi and Mr. Jamal Freizat were appointed as members of the Board of Directors until the end of the current term in 2026, to fill two vacant seats resulting from the appointment of two former members to ministerial positions.

The Jordan Economic Forum held a policy dialogue session hosting His Excellency Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department. The session was moderated by Dr. Adel Mohammad Al-Qatawneh, member of the Forum’s Board of Trustees, and attended by the Forum’s President, Mr. Mazen Al-Hamoud, along with several members of the Board of Directors and the General Assembly, in addition to representatives from various economic sectors, as well as financial and tax experts and specialists. Dr. Abu Ali emphasized that the changes implemented at the Department in recent years cannot be described as mere reforms, but rather as a comprehensive revolution that transformed the structure of the Jordanian tax system — in terms of practices, legislation, and even operational and digital mechanisms..

Board of Trustees Meeting

The Jordan Economic Forum held a meeting of its Board of Trustees, chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rajai Muasher, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and attended by Mr. Mazen Al-Hamoud, President of the Forum, along with the members of the Board of Trustees. As part of the cooperation agreement between the Jordan Economic Forum and the University of Jordan, Dr. Adnan Al-Araj, under the supervision of Dr. Basheer Al-Zoubi, delivered an interactive lecture to students enrolled in the Career Readiness Skills course. The session addressed the main challenges facing Jordanian youth in their job search and discussed ways to enhance their preparedness for the labor market. Dr. Al-Araj emphasized the impact of economic, organizational, political, and cultural factors on employment prospects in Jordan. This initiative reflects the Forum’s commitment to raising students’ awareness of modern labor market trends, in line with its vision to build effective national competencies that contribute to the development process.

Meeting Between Forum Members and the British Embassy in Jordan

The President of the Jordan Economic Forum, Mr. Mazen Al-Hamoud, met with the new UK Trade Envoy, Lord Ian McNicol, to discuss ways to enhance investment cooperation between Jordan and the United Kingdom. The meeting, which was also attended by the British Ambassador to Amman, Mr. Philip Hall, focused on strengthening strategic partnerships in the fields of economic research and the creation of sustainable investment opportunities. The discussions also highlighted the important role of the Jordanian banking sector in supporting economic growth and invited British investors to explore opportunities in renewable energy, technology, and education sectors.
